Firmware mods are hard dude. They take a lot of work. U know u will more thne likely lose the fact to play on xbox live?
If ur willing to lose xbox live and possibly ur 360 all together, i can help.

A lot of patient. People are trying to crack it everyday.
See the thing is, everyone has xbox live silver.
Xbox 360 gets upsated thru that.
So every time there is a an upgrade, it does it itself.
If they find u modded it, they cut u off of Live.

Nah I believe they already made a new firmware hack. But let me be clear, the firmware hack is for changing the firmware on your dvd rom drive to run basically burned games. It's extremely easy. It's basically the same as plugging up the HD to your computer, except the fact you use your computer and a program (smilar to pandora's GUI but better) and flash the firmware to your dvd drive. You just take your handy dandy SATA cables, plug it up, and flash. And yes there is a possibility you can loose xbox live. But it seems every time they update the system, they come out with a new untraceable firmware. I can check it out more thoroughly if you would like to risk it. If you really want to play brunt games, buy a used system ($200) and flash the firmware on that. It's the least you could do for M$ while you play burnt games

Yea, pretty much 50/50. I don't like the odds. But if you play xbox live a lot I would suggest not to do it. If you could care less, and really really care about playing burnt games...well im not responsible for whatever happens.

Ace,
Mabe this needs a new thread but it is associated with the above topic.
I do not suppose you have any idea of which off the shelf drives are suitable for the firmware flash do you?
I am asking only because I think I saw a video on you tube or something and it looked like the guy had an external optical drive attached to his 360. I also read or misread about the new Benq drives that are shipping with the new Xboxes Supposedly they have an off the shelf counterpart. If so everyone is mum on the off the shelf part numbers.
I do know for example, with the original Xbox you could flash and modify an off the shelf Hitachi and make it work in you Xbox. The goal being the ability to access any media not just burned DVD-r disks and originals.
