Yea. The old guy in Viridian and then surfing and all. Nice glitch. I didn't know about the S.S. Anne thing though. How does that work? I may go check that site later.

But yea, I used to know a ton about pokemon. I still do, as far as I know. It's just that I stopped playing before the emerald, ruby, and sapphire versions. I played them on roms a little but didn't get into the games. I could still play a pokemon game and hold my own though.

You may want to pick up a copy of Fire Red or Leaf Green. Awesome games.
And the way the S.S. Anne trick works is that you look at water, then save and restart your game. Before you do anything, use surf and you'll surf down instead of the direction the water is. If you look at the water on the bridge whenever you do this, you'll surf past the guy on the actual bridge. Then you move down a step and get past him. :) You can now go to the warp point that takes you to the S.S. Anne!
And there's no Mew under the truck. ;)

if your having trouble naming the bug gym leader you could go with a totally original name like they did in gold with 'Bugsy" :D

Check the other names.
They all have a connection to their gym type. Just like in most games.
The only problem I'm having is thinking of one like that for bugs. :(

I've played and even beat 2 of the newer games. I think fire red and emerald. I don't really remember too much from the newer games though. I have a bad memory - ask my girlfriend. But yea, I remember using that one pokemon in emerald that looks like a grass brontosaurus pokemon, but can fly! That thing was awesome. Hard to level up though. In fire red, the best thing I thought about that game was that they had that trainer thing so you could "re-battle" people. It's a neat aspect to the games.

I might pick em up and try them out a little bit more though. One thing I really want to do is try out the (hidden?) islands in the emerald games. I heard you could have legendary guys and stuff but I never got to w/e island I needed to go to (to my knowledge). I got lost when I needed different boat passes or something.

Yeah, you could only officially get the passes through Special Nentindo Events.

Well, if I have to cheat with Gameshark or anything, I'm all good. I just don't want anything to get messed up.

EDIT ~ Btw, this is the pokemon I was talking about earlier...

Yeah, that's Tropius. He's one of the few Pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald that I like.

UPDATE:
Added some more info on the game such as Gym leader's Pokemon.
I also got a great idea for the 8th city. It's a heavy industrial city were pollution from the steel refinery barely lets sun in. The leader is a steel type leader and you won't be able to access the city right away because there'll be a toxic spill next to the entrance. You'll have to beat the 7th city gym before they finish the cleaning up. :P

The more "event-based" things that you can put in the game, the better. The more obstacles you have to go around, or through, the better. The more times you need a certain item before being able to pass through somewhere, the better.

Just don't release it before it's done.

Oh, I'm going to make a few releases before the game actually gets started so people will be able to see it and get a feel for what I'm trying to achieve.
But, I totally agree with you, DPM. I'm trying to think of more events like this.
There's actually a lot of things I still have to think of so you can't go into the next city. There won't be Team Rocket or Team Magma or anything so it'll be a little harder to think of ideas.

I think a team rocket where a trainer named Ash would be awesome!! Team Rocket asked him to join many times and then just started asking for pikachu.

Personal opinion i guess.

Also, DPM, try out Diamond/ Pearl. You can play with people around the world ;)

Emerald too? You mean Diamond/Pearl?
No, those games ruined the original 150 pokemon. They murdered them.
He would probably hate it too if he was real into the first games.
I would say play Crystal. It's sooo fun! I love it!
I just started over a while back. I'm pretty far already.
And, Ash never traveled to Chirron, though.
I thought, earlier, to add in this place that was only in the manga. It's a big tree shaped like a Venasaur, hidden in a forest.
They never said where it was and Ash and the gang never were talked about so it could be anywhere on earth.

Its Absol.

Put Silver(???) in White Chill.

He's Giovanni's son. He dissappears for most of G/S/C.

So... Why not put him in Chirron?
