Question about update 3.4 and the Homebrew Channel

Hello, sorry if this has been asked before, but right now my Wii is on update 3.3. I've already used the twilight hack to get the homebrew channel and a bunch of wads on my Wii. My question is, if I update to 3.4, will that mean just the twilight hack gets deleted (which I don't need anymore, correct?), or that, the homebrew channel, and all my wads are lost as well? Thanks for your help.

Homebrew channel will still be there. The wads might still physically be there, but will be unplayable. You will also be unable to install wads as far as I know. There is no reason to update to 3.4. There was no reason to update to 3.3. I accidentally updated my Wii to 3.3 from a new game, and the first thing I did (litterally) was downgrade back to 3.2. 3.2 has the most compatibility and there's no reason to go up from there for now.

What if I temporarily move all of the wads to as sd card, then transfer them back after the update? Will the wads still work, or does the update delete them whenever detected? I wanted to update so I can connect to the internet/shop channel.

Just don't update... there have been patches released to get the internet and shop channels working. I can't pull up the exact link, but check out wiibrew.org for those patches.
