Is there a way I can get the actual homebrew channel downloading it to SD card? I don't have Zelda and its not in at my local renting store.
I downloaded from here what I thought was the homebrew channel to my computer, then put it in the apps folder on my sd card but was not showing up on my wii. Must of just been an update. Is there anyway of getting homebrew without buying a disc or using zelda? If so what is the file called?? Thanks alot... Im new to this stuff...

Also, I have version 3.4U can I still use it with this?? If not is there a way of downgrading on the update??

Without formatting? If so, how? 'Cause I'm having trouble installing Homebrew I'm wandering if it is easier to istall with a downgraded version of firmware.

Yes, it is possible to downgrade your Wii which does not reformat it. You can use Waninkoko's cios downgrader, or the firmware region changer. I personally used Waninkoko's without any problems. Google around for it and you'll find some tutorials written up on how to do both methods.
