Is it possible to downgrade your Wii from 4.0 to 3.4 or lower? I want to install the Homebrew channel. I accidentally upgraded to 4.0... So.. is it possible to downgrade or do you think a twilight hack compatible with 4.0 will ever be released? Else my USBGecko is useless for me, isn't it?

I just read something I missed before: "If you already have the Homebrew Channel installed it is possible to run it from an SD card but the channel cannot be installed back on the Wii."
Would this mean that if a friend of mine has the HBC installed and copies it to my SD card, I could run it from the card, and use it to downgrade to 3.4, 3.3 or 3.2 and than install the channel to my Wii.

no you cannot run the homebrew channel on your mem card. your stuck until they come up with a new exploit.

I downgraded (for the 2nd time) from Wii firmware 4.0 back to 3.2 successfully. This was because I had A) the HBC (obviously) and B) a cIOS (or cISO?!) installed beforehand.

Try to be more careful in future.

Thx, you expect the new HBC (or anything that allows you to downgrade) will be released soon? Or will it take a while, because of the extra security stuff.

It could really take any amount of time; could take weeks, could take months (no one's entirely sure how serious the security is as of yet). It's definately gonna take time finding a replacement exploit for Twilight Princess.

Just don't hold your breath...

Team Twiizers already have other exploits. They've had them for a while. They haven't needed to use them since the Twilight hack was so useful and it took so long for Nintendo to squash it. While I don't want you to be expecting one tomorrow, I don't think it's going to be TOO long before we see another hack released.

I hope so coz I don't want my usbgecko to be useless
