OK Confirmed working for me.

Here's what I did.
I tried to follow the instructions but could not get anything to show up in my homebre channel.
SO
First I had to go find and download IOS36-64-v1042.wad
Google for it.

I put that file on the SD card with the rev8 installer and inserted it.
Then used WiiLoad to run the cIOS36_rev9-Installer.dol
Ran the update as told to in the instructions (Just press yes)
Rebooted.

Turned off console
Inserted my thumb drive via USB
Turned back on
Loaded homebrew
Then used Wiiload again to boot up the USB-Loader_v1.dol

Told it to format my thumb drive 2gb

Then inserted my legal backup COPY of Paper Mario to test with
Told it to copy game....

Took about 7 mins or so
Then I ejected the disc
and clicked the game.
It booted RIGHT up! and FAST!

That's as far as I've gotten so far.
I'm assuming I need to get the usb loader running off my SD card to complete the hack
And get a MUCH bigger USB HD..

Hope this helps someone out there.. It's pretty easy if you have a push in the right direction.

Update I put the USB loader in \apps\usbloader on my SD stick
and then renamed the file to boot.dol

Now I don't need to network boot the loader anymore and it's completely stand alone.

Open my homebrew channel click usbloader and I'm set..
I'm now copying over Mario Party 8 to test it.

If you goodle around there's a PC app that will allow you to create wads (channels) to install. You could take the USB loader dol and create its own channel so you dont have to boot through the homebrew channel every time.
