So after updating my homebrewed Wii to 4.0, nothing works. I can't load games, and none of my stuff works. When I load a game it goes to a black screen and controller loses sync. When I load almost any VC game, same thing happens.

Am I f**k? I have no GC memory card in. I installed a few custom CIOS, I have HBC installed but HBC goes blank with or without the SD card inside the Wii.

Is this with original copies of games and purchased VC games? or backups and hacked VC games? 4.0 killed almost all homebrew functionality.

Both. Wii Discs [Both legitimate retail copies and burned ones], VC games I've purchased, VC games I've installed from WADs, and pretty much everything else. Settings menu works fine but everything else I load brings me to a black screen and then the controllers lose sync.
