I've been trying to get a 160g internal hardrive to work with a usb loader. So far i've had some luck, the programme recognises the device and wants me reformat it. Unfortunatley after the wii reformat, the pc won't recognise it anymore so it's back to partitioning etc.....
I'd be interested to know if anyone has got this combo to work yet as I can't find any info on it anywhere?
Will report back when not IF I have any joy

Not all drives work but i probaly know the reason First partition some of your USB Device to ntfs (or what ever you just need to able to sign a Drive letter) Then Format it to have WBFS and that should cure your problem Also, as more and more loads are now having USB Fat support i would leave 32Gig space for FAT on your usb, As i use my usb hardrive with Fat so i don't atall need my sd card anymore.
Thanks, Alex.
Its nearly 4 am ive been up 30 hours be greatful for my answer lol.

I tried using it formatted with ntfs (or whatever it is) and called WBFS, just assigned 30gig in case it didn't like more than that but no joy, tried using another usb loader then half way through another format it all went hidiously wrong and pc cut out and now drive is not recognised by anything?! Grrr
Will dig another out of the attic later........

I've managed to partition a part of the hard drive in the pc next to the wii (as I totalled the other HDD) and the thing I was doing wrong was formatting the drive using the pc, as soon as I wbfs manager it was all singing & dancing

Try WBFS Manager 3.0 I think this is what your looking for.
