Homebrew Channel no longer works after updating

I had version 3.4 on my Wii, but I was told that it was okay to update to 4.0, so I proceeded to do so. After updating, my Homebrew Channel stayed on the Wii Menu, but when I click it, the screen simply goes black, and my Wii Remote turns off, and it just stays like that. I updated to 4.1 now, but I heard it's the same as 4.0. Is there a way to use the Homebrew Channel again without using Bannerbomb? It's still just sitting on my Wii Menu, unusable.

I'm not the Wii expert at all, but it appears that you shouldn't have updated. It's generally not a good idea whenever you are running custom files on a system. You should wait for one of our more inclined Wii users to come by and help you out with this.

You May need to use the first part of my guide in my sig to reinstall homebrew, Weather you downgrade aswell is your choice. updating to the current 4.1 has no (bad homebrew) benefits as the same 4.0 meaning they haven't added anything else to anoy us homebrewers.
Their are things you can do though. 1. Have you got cios's already installed? 2. Have you used bannerbomb before? Even better.
3. Im particly confused ive heard no reports of this before and its strange.
4. Reinstall the Trucha bug on a 4.1 with "trucha bug" Installer.
Thanks, Alex.
