well its the only music i listen or and a study shows 96% of teenagers listen to rap.
do you like rap? why or why not?
i like what they says but the beats and rhymes are just killin and thats why i like rap and its the only music i listen to

I guess I'm a part of the only 4% . I don't care to much for it, I mainly listen to old school stuff and rock. The beats are the only thing I really care for. Every once in a while there might be a decent song, but I could care less about rap.

the only rap i listen to is soulja boy. Other than that i dust off many of my CD's

i really dont like rap. I dont mind the beat.. i just dont like the lyrics haha.. Usually there all about the same topic. I prefer classic rock, all the way to metal.. But im a guitarist..so you would expect me to listen to rock/metal. Im going to see the taste of chaos tour cant wait!

I listen to pretty much everything, but i mainly listen to rap. To be honest tho...rap has gone down the drain. The industry keeps signing on these one hit wonders all about their club anthems which is fine every once in a while but that sort of stuff is for brainless zombies. The only reason half this crap gets played on the radios as well is because the Labels own more than half of the stations. I'm rambling on, but bottom line...music needs to get back to the art of story telling, give the listeners something to think about instead of "shake your a$$ to the left, shake your a$$ to the right, pump it up n down, now take a sip of sprite" Come on now...

And it's not just rap thats gone downhill... a lot of other genre's share their load of garbage as well.

Haha so true, theres nothing left to sing about.. Guess we need to invent a new type of music.. I just can't stand these "wanna be gangsta's" that I see every once in a while. I mean is it cool to be in a gang? iz et kul tah talk lek dis? Idk, I don't understand. They just make an a** out of themselves.

I like everything rap included. One thing I do hate with wayne is all the wack djs making new mixtapes everyday with the same 20 songs.

Lately especially in what is called rap music it seems that there is too much recycling going on. It seems as if (I know this is not true) all the songs that were ever going to be written have been. Even Soja Boy (forgive me if I offend) made a dance hit out of what I recall to be a fraternity song from Omega Psi Phi (I think).

I do not mean to insult anyones taste in music but I think I said it before on my RIAA post on this board...

Making it in the music industry today is less about talent and more about luck.

For example, anyone remember the Laffy Taffy song? You like it? Not me, not at all. I do not understand the songs popularity or how anyone could dance to it.

All that aside I like a lot of older rap music and less and less of the new stuff.

Yea, the new stuff is all about the same thing, just in different words. I did used to listen to some stuff a while back, but not in the past several years.

you know only old people care about what the the song is, no mean to offend but mostly old people. I odnt know how odl you all are but kid at me age (12-18) me being 14 want songs that rhyme and sound good, i dont give a damn about what is says i just want something that SOUND GOOD and rhymes, it can have the stupidest things in it but songs are for rhyming fnot story telling.

what i hate is when people get music mistaken for poems, MUSIC is supposed to sound good, poems are supposed to have meaning...

but yah music has been going downhill, i mean after 2006 i think rap is becoming worse everyday....
since the day the game left g-unit, eminem stopped rapping, g-unit became less famous it seems like everyone started making crappy songs...

but im still like rap and idc its the only thing i listen to.

and AdventWolf its called bein fresh haha, i mean its a opinion some people like acting like that and some people dont... where i come from everyone does.... but i dont know everyone has their own opinions
