ok so far the compilation of ff7 stands as such
before crisis (featured only on dotcomo phones)
crisis core (psp of course)
ff7 (playstation 1)
advent children(film)
FF7 dirge of cerberus(ps2)
oh and the novel series "on the way to smile" or something. havent read it yet but seriously plan to.
in this ENTIRE series the plot has become increasingly complicated since its birth with ff7. and what strikes me MOST is Genesis (antagonist in Crisis Core) who appears in the secret ending to Dirge of Cerberus in which he is awakened underground and grabs weiss and says "its not time for slumber, we still have much work to do, my brother"
so its pretty clear to me the story is far from over. do you think more will come of this series? should we look forward to a ff7-2?

I beleive they said that it is the last one. Meaning there will not be any more and to wait to see how it ends because its suppose to be a really good ending. Or something like that.

then why leave all that extra genesis stuff? why put in a secret organization at ALL? aaargh i dont trust SE much these days. its pretty clear to me the whole of SE's fan base is calling for a remake of the original. i want ATLEAST a clear end without these cliff hangers too. itd be STUPID not to do both. like saying "oh i dont need money". tetsuya may be busy but i think as soon as that schedule of his clears he'll hop right aboard.

Last one? Really? About time!
Sorry not a big fan of FF, probably the only person on the planet that does not consider final fantasy a game but a frustrating movie where one must use repetitive action to see the story unfold.
Not fun for me and only me I guess.
I did like the first CG movie I think it was called "Spirits Within" or something like that. It had little do do with any of the games I think that is why I liked it so much. I have not seen Advent Children though it has been highly recommended to me. I will watch the movie, someday; just not today.

I criticized the game, I think it's only fair that you critique the movie.

Ok, perhaps.
Why not bring up why you like the games so much? What about them holds your interest?

not sure, wouldn't be surprised if they kept making ff7 spin offs (because im sure they are making a good amount of money off them) but they seem pretty lame for the most part to me. spin offs are always crappy when involving a great game, if they want to make more to the ff7 world just remake the game for a newer system, because im not gonna buy an action game that has ff7 slapped on the title its lame
i want to see ff7 remade just how it was with only upgrades being: graphics = smoothed out but still relatively the same, which would be sweet because i love the block hands of the characters and everything (too bad everyone else would have a fit and want like crazy 3d graphics, but they always ruin old games/series when they do that it seems). just do that and add a few more weapons, the bosses that is, and maybe a few more side quests
and que13x, one of the best thing about Final Fantasy as a series is i think that square/enix realizes how badly drawn out quests or tasks can be on the overall game, there are so many good rpgs that have extremely tedious and overly drawn out parts that it ruin the rest of the game because you don't even feel like going on. there are rarely parts of FF games that make me think "ugh why the hell would the developers make us do this [insert task] for so long, just get on with the story" instead FF gives the player the option to do side quests if he or she desires whereas a good amount of RPGs make it feel like the regular game task is a long drawn out side quest.
and they are just good at executing the game, the battles are fun, learning new stuff is fun (and not overly complicated, which is another thing other RPGs love to do is make their battle system and learning new attacks/magic/whatever annoying and complicated that you are almost forced to look at a guide to figure out the best course of action so you don't waste time learning some pathetic and useless attack)

well i personally have enjoyed crisis core. EXCEPT for Genesis for which there is no point whatsoever. "poetry poetry blah blah gift of the goddess blah blah" they just shoved him wherever and called it a story. id be perfectly fine with the series ending here. but it is what it is.
i liked ff7's story. alot of games lately seem like they are for kids who dont have attention spans. heres a goal. do it. ff7 is one of the first rpgs i ever played and it involved me in an expansive story line and once i was finished offered alot that i could still do. i beat the game the first time in about 60 hours or so. i played it the second time around for so long the clock stopped at 299 hours i think. and since then it still offers more in the compilation of ff7. its like i grew WITH this game.
with other final fantasies things just didnt click as well though. i beat 8 once 9 once and 10 once, couldnt sit through 10-2 and havent picked up 12

I'm playing Crisis Core (started yesterday) and I'm really... and I mean, REALLY not impressed so far. I hope I'm able to get more involved. The story seems interesting, but lack of detail and story development (fast development at least) is killing me.
I hope it's just another slow beginning to a final fantasy game... not just a terrible game.
Also, about what que said regarding repetitive action, I think it's true. That action, however, helps shape your characters. I like that you have a choice for what characters to use and develop more quickly and more powerfully than others - thus offering a different way to be the game. That's really what draws me to them, other than the story. The gameplay really is not to be desired. I would have thought gameplay like that would have died off in the SNES era... guess not.

Crisis Core was recommended to me but the description did not excite me much. Keep me posted if you do not mind if the game get any better or more lame.
