I am not sure if this is a good idea, it seems you guys are egging on for Sony lawyers to do something about it. You guys plainly describe why they should shut us down, by brewing illegal games and activity.. just my .02 cents.. but a harmless joke can sometimes bring repercussions.

SCEA, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, evaluates traffic and downloaded files from different websites throughout a month's time. Upon the first of every month, they will send out cease and desist letters to those in which they believe have violated their rights and have enabled piracy. We did receive a cease and desist letter (email rather) and we are looking into ways with working with Sony in order to try and maintain the brewology and keep it up and running. I'm doubtful, however, as Sony is very vigilant in its efforts to shut down piracy.
I'm sorry guys, but it looks like we have 9 days left according to the email that monkeymaximus, slick, and I all received. During that time, enjoy the forums and hopefully we'll be able to work something out.

well everything you have on this site doesnt even belong to Sony, and since we bought it, the psp is our products.
so we are able to do anything we want with out products
also since NON of these things belong to sony, they have no right to not let you distribute them.
am i wrong?

If we keep codling the noobs and their requests for running downloaded ISOs I suspect it will not be a joke for long.

but sony has no right to punish you for what people are asking on your forums.
its a public forum and people are allowed to ask anything.\
am i wrong?

The problem isn't with the asking, but rather, the providing.

but its a public forum, sony has no control over it, we aren't using their products, we only talk about them
dude its the same argument UTorrents uses to stay alive, "we dont provide the downloads, the people do, therefore we do nothing illegal its the people"
same here, monkey doesnt provide the answer, normal people do.

Sorry for sounding negative but as we all know the ability to run backups is very well documented all over the web.
Anyone that reads really has no reason to post anything relating to ISOs. In my opinion it is the lack of desire to do research that leads to the repeated postings on the topic.
Now don't get me wrong I love offering a hand to anyone that asks, I have even been IMed on how to do this and that by random people on AIM but I always draw the line at piracy.
A forum with this many members is a good public repository for a corporate lawyer to build a case and I for one do not want to get a subpoena letter in the mail for someone else's laziness.
I am all about freedom of speech and I do not see homebrew as a crime but there are laws against circumventing copyright protections and in my opinion, forums could be next in the line of fire from the big corporations that blame piracy for their perceived lack of profits.

I should take this time to say April Fools... shouldn't I?
@ 8-bit ~ I deleted one of your posts because it was like the third post in this thread and you said April Fools and that it was a joke. I deleted it so that I could drag this on a little longer lol. I didn't tell you, but then again, you didn't tell me that you'd pull a prank on the forum either lol.
