I live in a gated community in the suburbs.
Today I was out skating as usual when some old lady came up to me and told me I can't skate in the street because its dangerous.
The place I live doesn't have sidewalks so now what do I do?

Screw her.
I ride my bike anywhere I want to. Even if people get mad at me.

Unless your association agreement specifically specifies or there is a county ordinance or you are required to wear protective gear and you were not, you have the right to skate.

I would tell her ok and keep skating she probably does not like you for other reasons and just uses skateboarding as an excuse to start something. Just be polite but remember your rights.

just tell her " im not hurting anyone, so i can do it"

I figured it out and if she comes at me again I'll tell her off:

"I skate on the right side of the street so if theres a car
behind me I'll know, also the music level of my psp isn't
high enough that I can't hear people talking to me so I can
indeed hear a car behind me.

Lastly, I'd hate to be an donkey but who are you?
Because if you aren't an owner of the complex and you aren't an
authority figure(and I use the term loosely) then what I do is none
of your business, seeing as how I live here as well."

And thats what I'll say. :)

EDIT: Minor Grammar changes.

Then i'd be across the street laughing at the old lady and saying "You got owned". That'll teach her.

You would be better off ignoring her and letting her stew in her own anger. Should she call the cops she would only get more pissed when they tell her you aren't doing anything wrong.

If you tell her off it may become a battle of he said she said and if there are any witnesses they would more than likely lean towards her side regardless of what was said.
