Im getting rly annoyed about all of my favorite games getting crummy reviews... such as coded arms, haze, lair, The Darkness, and monster hunter freedom.
i rly enjoyed all of these games as have many of my friends and im beginning to distrust many reputable reviewing sources... is anyone else having this problem or do i just have poor taste in games?

What sites?
Whenever I used to watch X-Play I thought it gave pretty unbiased reviews.

Well, sometimes the people who write the reviews don't have the same taste in games...
Maybe whoever reviewed Lair didn't like dragons or Japanese culture.
If you're deciding to buy a new game and want to know if the game is going to be decent or not, I would suggest using multiple sources and reading a few reviews.

I feel the same way, a lot of games I like have poor ratings. IGN seems like the worst game ranking site of all, but I still like to visit it

Yeah, I agree also. IGN tries and looks for "perfection" in video games nowadays.
And what I also find rather odd sometimes, is crappy games getting somewhat good-ish reviews.

gamespot.com isn't so bad for reviews, but, I don't read ANY professional review sites or magazines in order to find out how a game is. If anything, I'll read for information, but if I want to find out how a game really is, I read the reviews from the gamers or members of the sites. It takes longer to sift through user reviews but it's much more worth it in my opinion.

I agree with DPM, i do that too. Gamespot has a good setup for user reviews and ive been pleased with the amount of time they put into user reviews there.

I've never really liked any websites reviews. Same goes for me, I never believe they give what games deserve. I prefer to look at the pictures though. If the pictures are good, then I will try it out :p

im beginning to think its because people set everything to the same standards as games like cod4 and gta5.... which is.. lets face it rly unreasonable...
