In need of real time advice

Ok. I know I've asked for some of this info before, and there have been xbox vs. ps3 threads started before... but I think I might go pick up a system tomorrow and I need some real time and updated advice.

I'm leaning toward picking up a 360 for 2 reasons. 1: It's cheaper. The system itself and import games in Japan are on average cheaper. 2: It has a much bigger game library.

As far as the ps3 is concerned, I have no need for a Blueray player. I collect blueray rips on a HDD and play them on TV through my computer.

One more factor, I only have abour 2-4 hours / week to be able to play.

So there you have it. 360 vs ps3 vs nothing. What do you think?

Whatever you are planning to do with it. What games you want to play more. What your friends have.

Which 360 or which PS3 are you planning to purchase?

Playstation Store to buy movies ($14.99), just about ANY tv show. Any show that is currently on TV - Burn Notice/Prison Break/Family Guy and many old shows like scooby doo! And Batman and Robin. There is a crap load. ($1.99 an episode). Or rent movies. ($3.99)
And Playstation Store games and PS1 games.

360:

Theres more to the 360 probably, but I'm not all familiar with it so I can't say. The PS3 has suited me just fine with what I want. I stuck with the PS3 because of the exclusives like Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Jak and Daxter, Final Fantasy, Socom, and Metal Gear Solid from having the PS2 for a long time.

I forgot about the playstation exclusives... i haven't played the ps2 god of wars, but the psp one rocked my socks. Plus metal gear is pretty much awesome. Man, was hoping I wouldnt have to shell out an extra 100 for a ps3, but maybe I should go that way.

What my friends have is pretty much irrelevant. Living out on my own I don't really play games with friends much... just meet up for dinner or go get drinks.

Any way would be a win/win for most people but I can't live without God of War, MGS, Ratchet and Clank, etc :).

Which 360 bundle were you planning on purchasing?

Dunno if the packs here are the same in the states, but its called the value pack. $300 for the setup, component cables, remote, 60gb drive, and a 2-in-1 game thing. forgot the games.

Alright think about like this. If you get a 360 you are gonna get online so its probably best just to get a full year subscription at the get go so you don't have to worry about it later. So thats $50. And you you want to play wireless you gotta shell out another $70?

I remember that Pro bundle comes with Kungfu Panda and a lego game.

Different game bundles here. Anyway, I guess I should just get the ps3... ps3 games match me a little more. guess I'm gonna pay for it. lol

Lol. There isn't a grand list of PS3 games right now, but this year looks to favor the PS3.

I've only spent $60 on 2 games so far and that has been MGS4 and CoD5. Then I spent $50 on Madden 09 (Bad purchase)
The rest have been less than $40. Except Resistance 2 which was a gift. So you can probably find some cheap finds now. A lot of the good games have come down to $30-$40.

360 has a few more games than the PS3 does, and the PS3 is more expensive.
However, the 360 costs a lot more money for the Wi-Fi adapter, XBox Live, and a lot of stuff that should be included when you buy it.
The PS3 has better graphics and more uses than just games. Plus, PS3-PSP connectivity is cool.
Also, you'd be able to play PS2 ISO's on your PS3. (Only Japanese models)

I would say the PS3 is more for your buck.

Hopefully Sony adds full PS2 emulation support so I can play my games!

Do you have an HD tv?

Yeah, I have a 32in lcd... its only 720p, but at that size 1080p isnt really that necessary. If this ps2 iso loader is real, I'm picking up a ps3...

It has a DL link. We need someone to test it out to say if it worked or not.

Well, I have an Xbox360 and I'm really only bought it for one main reason: The Games!

I think it has games that better suit my taste. I'm not really all into the multi-stuff you can do with it.
