Good thinking. R4 cards will work fine for people that don't understand the technology behind the cards really well. I never thought I'd own a DS but about 3 months ago I purchased a (stolen) NDS Lite and bought an Acekard 2.1 and it's worked splendid. No game has been incompatible and the menu is fast even with nice customizations. Good stuff.

By the way, GBATemp is a great site! I'm registered there as well! ;)

There are lots of R4 models, legit or non-legit that clone other cards. You probably could put the kernel for Acekard on some models of R4, but when it all boils down to it, I only paid $11.08 for my Acekard and a little less than $5.00 for an NDS charger as well as $50.00 for my NDS (got a 2gb SD micro for free).

All in all, whether it gets use by me or not, it's a good investment. I could turn and tell anybody, "hey look, you should buy this NDS b/c it can have ANY game you ever want!". Not to mention that it keeps my girlfriend quiet which proves how vital this little device has become to my everyday life ;)
