So if you don't know about this arleady, apparently on December 21 2012 the human race will be forever changed, as it's the end of the "final" winter solstice, and the end of the mayan calendar.

I find some major flaws in this theory, 1, the Mayan Calendar used a 260 day calendar, so even if it ment something was happening it would have happened by now, due to the 1/3 difference in our years (Just about).

2. Who knows how the mayans died? Let's say their cheiftan (w/e idc) is making the calendar and when Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro, invaded the lesser civilization and killed the man making it? (He conquered the Aztec's also thought to conquered Mayan's.. i mean who else did?) The aztec's thought he was a god...and they were a highly respected civilization as well..

3. Even if something does happen, why does everyone assume the worst? (Remember 2000 and all technology not working..? lol) We could change for the better, (and if it is for the worst, we're dying anyway get over it)

Well, what are your guys' opinion in the matter?

Okay, 2012. I'm sure that there's been major flaws in converting the date to the Gregorian Calendar. So, if somethind does happen, it won't be on that date because our calendar was based off of the Julian Calendar and that was a complete mess.
Also, the conversion of the date is said to be wrong by a lot of people... Supposedly there were a lot of decimal places screwed up resulting in this claim. The most probably converted year for the end of the world by the Mayans' claims would be 4.134105 × 10^28 . (By the way, that's a HUGE number)
Besides, can someone show me where the Mayans say that it'll be the end of the world?

Personally I think it is extremely stupid. It's just the mayan calendar, no one has any idea why it is made like it is, and I think it is completely moronic to believe the world will end or "a great change will come about" just because the way a calendar is designed. Not to mention the conversion errors that I'm sure are pretty abundant like a few people have already mentioned.

Some people can believe that the mayans predicted the fate of the world many years later, but can't believe in God. lawl.
