7 is pretty good. Basically like a revamped Vista...that works almost flawlessly. I give it a 9/10. And I would go ahead and use the magical fairy anyways, it's really overpriced.

Windows 7 is Micro$ofts way of saying "we "F"ed up with Vista but here, buy the service pack to fix it" cause we need the money.

At least that is how it looks to me.

I say this because XP was around for 7 years before the "update" known as Vista came out. Now Windows 7 will update Vista 3 years after it's release.

If those "fairies" come through for you, do let us know what you think...

I would wait. If you are happy with Vista SP2 stay with it. Unless you really want the security / design. Just stay with what you have.

Im Getting windows 7 realy cheap as my mum bought my New Laptop not long ago, i will upload once i have it too.

I haven't used Vista that much, or really at all. I went from XP to 7. I've been using 7 for a while, and I love it. I think I may just buy this to make my life easier. I'm running the since discontinued E version at the moment.

Has anyone commenting on me read the first post? It was about whether or not Windows 7 is worth the money. I don't know if it is or isn't I explained my thoughts on it.

Nothing was wrong with Win Vista..if you knew what you were doing. Win7, as Que (I believe) said just fixes all the issues.

Lets put it this way, I was dual booting Win Vista and Mac OSX. When Win7 came out into beta (well A little after,7100) i decided to try it out. I Loved It. So much in fact, when those magical fairys told me the Release build was out (7600) I decided to go all out with it and erased my whole HDD and start afresh with Win7. I couldnt be happier with me choice. Everything just works..and works well. From the revamped media player (less memory hog) to the aero peek function. From the new maximize and minimize to windows glass viewing. Its perfect for me..and replaced XP and Mac OSX..which says a lot.

I give it a 9/10..which is partly because I am running on older hardware (2GB ram, 1.83 Core 2 duo processor) and the inability to upgrade directly from Xp to 7 without doing a clean install.

Give it a try.

I'm suppose to get my W7 a couple of weeks after release, when I got my new PC it gave me eligibility for a free upgrade so I'm set .

I concur with the comments that have said seven is quite the beast. It is definitely my favorite OS that Microsoft has made thus far, they definitely hit the nail on the head with this one.

@ .Yunoko ~ I hate to get on you about this (again) but you are not a moderator. All que13x was trying to do was answer the original poster's question. Asddasit asked, essentially, "is Windows 7 worth buying/ upgrading to?". Que responded not only with an exact and direct opinion about the value of Windows 7 but he backed up his reasoning with the fact that Microsoft released Windows 7 so quickly in response to Vista. In fact, he didn't even say anything negative about Windows 7 - just that Vista was bad and that Microsoft updated their bad operating system twice as fast as they updated from XP to Vista. He even implied that he was interested in knowing how things go with Win7 when the "fairies" bring it to asddasit. You said, "Ranting is not what this topic about, it is asking if he should get it". Well, apparently que thinks that Win7 is a rush-release to fix errors that Vista "left out" and he wants to know how Win7 is for asddasit. If you interpreted that as anything other than what was clearly written, like rule 17 of the forum that you broke by posting links to transsexual/ transgender pornography in your signature not too terribly long ago... well, let's not go there.

My point is this. Don't act like a moderator and then post links to tranny porn in your signature. It gets you zero respect and absolutely 0 gold stars or smiley faces.

And 7 is worth getting. Now notice I said GETTING and not BUYING. If u have an old sh*tty laptop, buy a new one, and u get 7 free anyways (I do!!!) Or if u have connections to a legit one, get it. As they said "its the compatibility and power of vista with the speed of XP(in my opinion the stability of linux ). I do like it, and can't wait only cuz my 64bit vista fails constantly. Compatibility all the way back to 3.1 I think. Why? As an alien on invader zim once said "because its cool". That and I still play with 3.1 today

Heres my opinion :

Windows 7, the greatest OS ever released by Microsoft Corp.
Not only is it easy to use, and it also downloads the driver software for ur drivers via windows update.. infact I am writing this on Windows 7, and yeah GET IT. DO NOT BUY IT... Microsoft is gonna release windows 8 by Sept-Dec next year, I'd say if you're willing to BUY a Windows, then wait for Windows 8.

Another thing to remember : Latest isnt always the greatest. i.e. Windows 8 doesn't HAVE to be greater then 7.
