I was reading the "9/11 lets talk about it" topic, and saw that they were huge misconceptions about Islam. So i just had to.

Just a brief thing though :
Muslims believe that there is only 1 God.
Muslims are not allowed to commit sins.. (that doesn't mean that all of them stop)
There is no such thing as extrmism in Islam
These Al-Qaeda people are NOT Muslims, they are just Muslims BY NAME.
A person from Islam is a Muslim.
If Muslims are doing bad stuff that doesn't mean that Islam teaches it.
Swearing isn't allowed, (yeah i know my bro did)
I REPEAT TERRORISM ISN'T ALLOWED IN ISLAM.
Being Racist isn't Allowed.
Having S*X b4 getting married or having an illegal affair isn't allowed in Islam.
Pork isn't allowed, In Cristianity, the old Testament it isn't allowed either.
Islam is not a culture, There is no such thing as cristianmuslim.
Islam prohibits Alchohol
Shia Muslims arent proper Muslims, their belief is altered.
And like Crait said, In a alot of the videos, Osama was wearing gold watches, and silk stuff. both of them aren't allowed for men in Islam. Oh and some1 in the government said that God was punishing America the month this happened.

hey, as much as it doesnt seem, im a Christian. understand that i dont discriminate you at all. just cuz black people are gangsters, doesnt mean they ALL are. race religion, nothing. as much as a dotn agree with some islamic teachings, i dont blame it for the attacks, that sh*ts mostly politics and self-righteous BS they all be fronting.

I think most people agree that not all Muslims are terrorists... but while terrorists may not be true Muslims (or whatever religion they are claiming to be) they THINK they are, which makes fighting them that much more difficult. It doesn't matter if they are or not. There are tons of people in the US that kill "in the name of God." Of course they are wrong, but if they think they are answering to a higher power, man's law is out the window and they are going to do whatever they want. How do you fight an enemy that ISN'T afraid to die?

Muslim is the culture.
Islam is the faith.

That's why there's Muslim countries and not Islamic countries.
People can be Muslim Christains, or Australian Islamics.

I agree but allow me clarify a bit.

Muslim is an Islamic(Arabic) term which means one that submits to god.

Islam is the religious faith of Muslims including a belief in Allah as the sole deity and in Mohammed as his prophet.

An Islamic country is a theocracy that embraces or is based on Islam. You can have a Muslim country but you don't say that because you want to be specific about the belief system that the country submits to. ie: America submits to god (look on the money what it says) but it is never specified which god America submits to so by definition of the word Muslim America should be a Muslim country.

The other thing...
Muslim Christians accept Jesus Christ over Mohammed so not quite true Islamic.

Being an Islamic Muslim is submitting yourself to Allah.
That includes following the 'Muslim rules' and the Islamic law.
Just being a Muslim is just following the 'Muslim rules.' You can still be whatever religion you want but you follow the rules. You don't have to follow the Islamic rules like having to pray at least 5 times a day if you're able to or being prohibited from wearing jewelry or silk.
You could also be considered Muslim if you're a descendant of a Muslim.

You can also be considered Jewish if your parents are/were but not so if you were say Christian.

Funny thing you mentioned here about Muslims. You seem to suggest that they pick and choose which parts of the religion they deem worthy of following.

Isn't this true for ALL faiths?

thanks for that, I am a muslim and what u said is pretty much true, Islam is the religion, Muslim is the followers.

For e.g. Christianity is the religion and Christians are the followers.
p.s. in Islam u acn't believe in other religions??? wth? its like a christian saying Vishnu is God. u know how wierd that is??

Here is the irony about that. Islam is a branch of Judaism! Yea Mohammed is the prophet but even the Koran Mentions Jesus and other figures such as Moses...

People believe what they want. All you can do is let them b unless they really get in your face.

You can be a Jewish Christian if you're of Jewish descent. Like people can be of Indian descent or British descent.
Being Jewish means one of two things: Of Jewish descent or you follow the Jewish faith.
During the Holocaust, Jews were marked with a Jewish star even if they didn't follow the Jewish religion because of their race.
This is kinda the same thing.
If someone grows up in a Muslim country where they're taught to follow the Muslim rules and then that person moves to America, he's probably going to still live with those customs.
He could change his religion all he wants but he's still going to live with those customs.
That's how he's still Muslim.

Grant it, he could pull a Zohan and change his lifestyle completely, however.

You guys are dancing around terminology too much and not actually getting to the topic. This topic is about Islam. We're talking about the religion. So in that case a follower is referred to as a Muslim. Regardless of heritage.

U guys are getting mixed up with Islam and Arabic Culture...
Islam is a religion, what u guys r talking about is arab culture... get it
A muslim doesnt change his religion and still follow Islam,
those customs r of arabs not muslims

All the customs and traditions and all of the stuff u guys r talking about is ARAB CULTURE... NOT ISLAM
