Hi everyone,
We here at the Brewology plan to add in a new section here soon for the computer, PCBrew. At this time, however, we don't have plans of mirroring the content to an actual website like we've done in the past. Instead, we encourage everyone to use the
www.brewology.com link as their main portal to the Brewology. Personally, I recommend setting your homepage for your browsers to Brewology.com. Doing this will keep everyone updated on every bit of news that we write since everything is mirrored onto our Brewology.com page. PCBrew-related news will be posted on the Brewology.com page exclusively for the time being once the forum is completely setup for it. Our plan is to output our news so that we have worthwhile articles to read every day for various different topics. At this time, we're also asking for
News Posters. If you feel you could help out with a certain aspect of the news, mention what you excel in here in this thread and we'll see where it goes from there.
On the lines of our newest project for PCBrew, we plan to have sub-forums like we do for all of our other sections, but we'd appreciate community-input for what we should cover in the forum. If you have a great idea for what we should include in the forum, let us know in this thread.
Lastly, we plan to consolidate, rename, and possibly remove some sections. Again, we're looking to the community for your input as to what you guys think we should change to make this a better brewing site.
Thanks!

any news on a mac section?
not sure if we have one yet, but i do have a mac, grown up on an imac, now with a macbook pro, i could definitely help there.
also, i could post some xbox news if you need any help with that, reviews, and whatnot.
i also believe some type of forum cleanup is needed, there is such a lacking of post in much other sections, if we added reviews and tutorials (noob-ified) and stuff, im sure activity would increase. any thoughts?

Activity was lost some months ago but we've actually come back from that dry spell now. I'm not so worried about inactivity at all actually. MAC related stuff will probably file down into a sub-forum of PCBrew stuff, I think.

the mac section sounds good, although i did read the thread dealing with mac/pc/linux and i realized not many users here are mac fans. has any thought been put into consolidating the forums so that they aren't so long? is there a way in phpbb to make like a forum that inside a section, there were subsections? if that makes sense?

Hey Shadox. There is a Mac website located
http://tinyurl.com/Macbrew
We need someone with you to help us out tho!
Reviews and tutorials is also greatly needed. Starting right now, around Christmas time, would be great to start reviews on the gifts we will be receiving.

Perfect. We'll get it linked to the hompage too like "Hey! wanna xxxxx? We got the tutorial for you" kinda thing.

yeah. do you know how things get filtered into the google search.. number one way people find forums are searching for a tutorial or question, find it, and then join the forum to ask a question.. they have no intention of staying, but end up doing so after asking a few questions and talking to the members. so we have to try to get tutorials and stuff into google search - i honestly have no idea how that is done though.

MacBrew exists but we didn't mirror the forums when we moved everything to one forum because it has very little posts and almost no traffic. I don't plan to keep using that site for anything, but Mac-related information will be added into the forum manually and "start over". It would greatly help if we have active members use
www.brewology.com as their main access to the brew because we can still use the Mac site for news on brewology.com - that way, it'll still have its own color and everything, but the forum from that site will not be used. I will collapse the forum sometime in the near future.

I honestly don't think the other forum sites are just working out.
I rarely ever see anyone on there (I could be mistaken though).
Also I'm sure it would take some time seeing as Nik is the only PHP/Website coder with access to being able to even make this "PCBrew".
EDIT:
Pfft wow I just realized all the forums have the same content.

Well, PCbrew could be split into sections of OS's, Windows>Linux>mac etr etr.
Also software issues and such, hardware help, maybe software help, maybe just asking for keygens and getting pmed about them for example, keeping us tapped on what happpenining to torrent sites, there are so many.
i also recommend a section on cheap, and amazing software/hardware deals, that are in the UK and USA, or if just in USA u can get shipping.
