So its true folks, Apple Inc has now given the world the largest tampon.



So what do you guys think of this thing, I think its one of the worst ideas to come to Apple ever!
When the company is known for selling hundreds if not thousands of millions of each product instead of a few million.
I think its a rushed attempt starting with the name, it is pretty expensive and the worst is that the base model doesn't come with 3G its a $200 upgrade.

Wished it was named the iSlate

Had a better processor than 1Ghz..my phones about to be doing that.

Ran modified OSX at least. Now, this isnt my favorite OS but it sure can beat the crap out of the iPhone OS.

Wish it had a face camera...well, wish it had a camera.

Wish it could Multitask. BIG reason why I wont be a buyer

Its name is just ridiculously gay. I hope it fails just because I don't like Apple and I don't want them to make iPhone users have to upgrade.

well the 3g models have a cheap web plan i suppose. it reminds me of a net book. kind of what i expect from apple.

Umm...it doesnt even make calls or have a camera. Its totally different and all the same as the iPhone.. but its not made to replace the iphone.

the only thing I can see this being good for is Ebooks. I was AMAZED when I saw how fluent and intuitive the book was on it.

That is freaking crazy! The most expensive way to go would be the 64 GB model with 3G and a monthly bill of $30.
So $830 + $30 a month!

It just seems like a gimped eReader to me, a very expensive eReader.

anyone know if it has usb ports or ANYTHING?

Theres a port where you can by a dongle (lol..dongle..ipad) that will give you a USB port..

All in all, I think the iPad is a neat product but certainly not at their price point. I usually say that with most Apple products, but it's true. I have an Apple iPod touch now and it's amazing what all this little thing can do. Aside from true Java and a modified Flash Player engine or something, this little device is a miniature touchpad laptop. I should mention, though, that the iPad would ONLY appeal to ME if I were to install a separate operating system on it from which to hack the junk out of it... and even then it's a little bulky.

It's a mobile Web device that doesn't come standard with 3G. It's an (overgrown) iPhone that doesn't place phone calls. It's an e-book reader that can't last a full day on a single charge. It's a computer that can't multitask. It's a media player you can't put in ur pocket. It's a mapping and local search tool without GPS. It's the "best way to experience the Web" without Flash. The iPad is a lot of things. Sadly, a well-thought-out device is not one of them.
