Help with DAX time machine.....

Hi im a noob with this stuff and i need to know how to use time machine to downgrade to 3.40 -OE when i use it I select it and go to check system software it still say 3.90 M33-3 I and running 3.90 M33-3 and on a phat plz help

My first one was helping a guy downgrade his psp And then the second I think was when I got stuck or something downgrading my own, had to use the flash0 recovery stuff.
