I Have A Few Options For A New Console

So, I have three options....
• I could buy a new 360 (slim black 4Gb model) for $200 and have a new 360 for myself.
• I could buy my friend's old 360 and get a game or two for $100.
• I could buy a new older model of the 360 for $150.
• Or I could buy a new PS3 for $300 and play online for free and do a lot of other stuff.

What should I do?? :O

Go for the new 360. The used one will eventually break as the old style is flawed for the most part. Micro$oft will stop supporting out of warranty consoles I heard. Depending on how old the used console is when the inevitable RROD happens to you, you will be SOL if you go for the old style used console.

I own a PS3 and all it's really good for is Blu-Ray. Many of the developers are abandoning PS3 because of development issues. Capcom comes to mind and I believe the other is Insomniac. Finally there are few games that are worth buying that are exclusive to PS3, asside from that they are all on 360 as well. Where $ony wins is that they have a free gaming network but I don't know how much gaming you do online. This feature isn't important to me so now you know how I feel.

Just FYI, if you go the 4gb Xbox 360 route and plan to just upgrade the hard drive later its more expensive lol. Also, until Microsoft/Bungie release the patch, you cant play Halo Reach on it.

But I think xbox has more value than PS3. Its more media internet centric. Yes, the PS3 has Blu-Ray, but thats getting old. If you wanted Blu-Ray (like I did..) I went out and bought a Blu-Ray player.

But come November my Xbox will have all-
hulu plus
Netlfix
ESPN
Media Center
Facebook
Twitter
Last.FM
and if you have ATT U verse it will eventually act as a box for your TV
I use mine right now as a DVR.

PS3 has some of these things, but most of them they dont. This is where the pricing of Live comes in. Its jumping from $50 to $60. But who actually pays full price nowadays? Amazon here i come for your sweet deals.

What's stopping him from playing Reach again?

Reach isn't blocked on the 4G model, you just don't have a supported hard drive to play co-op online with, which I really won't mind losing the ability for.
And, the PS3 has most of those features already except ESPN. It also has a web browser with Flash, so I could technically do YouTube, too. And Tn'A Flix, if you know what I'm saying. ;)
Besides, I don't care much for online play, but if it's free, I would actually use it.
I guess the only thing stopping me from getting a PS3 is Dead Rising but the sequel is going to be on the PS3, too, so I dunno... :O

I have to make some corrections.

The slim 360 comes with a 250 meg hard drive and it can only write 4 gigs from media such as thumbdrives. This is by design and is intended to prevent piracy and circumvention measures.

As for the slim not being able to run Reach that is bull. There are Reach theme slim consoles out there the slim is completely compatible with Reach. The source of this rumor is here like I stated the 360 comes with a 250gb drive not a 4gb drive. As for not being able to run Reach, I know it's a rumor because I verified that Reach runs on a slim today. I think what they mean to say is that if you are running the game from a 3rd party accessory it may not run. This is Micro$oft doing what it does best. Only hackers will have this issue IMO and not legitimate console users.

But hey, Enjoy your PS3; for me there are 3x more games I would rather play on 360 but like I said that's just me.

Que, what are you talking about? There is a 250gig version slim that comes with the 250 gig hd and then there is a 4 gig version of the slim. The 4 gig is here: http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Xb ... t/58ADCF51

That version doesn't let you play halo reach co-op online because you need a hard drive to do it. That applies to any xbox 360 without a hard drive. Souce: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/halo- ... ms-have-t/

Although m$ is working on removing that problem, so in the near future a hard drive won't be required to play online co-op.

List wars!

Exclusives:

PS3:
Uncharted 1 and 2
LittleBigPlanet 1 (soon to be 2)
Metal Gear Solid 4
God of War 3
Resistance 1, 2 (3 is on its way)
Ratchet And Clank
Gran Turismo 5
Killzone 2 (soon to be 3)

360:
Halo 3 and Reach
Gears of War 1 and 2
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Forza 3
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2
Fable 2 and 3

I'm probably missing some good ones from both sides, but these are the more popular ones.

Okay, my opinions on those lists...

PS3
Uncharted 1 and 2 - Meh...
LittleBigPlanet 1 (soon to be 2) - Meh...
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Meh...
God of War 3 - Didn't like any of the others except for the PSP version...
Resistance 1, 2 (3 is on its way) - Meh...
Ratchet And Clank - Meh...
Gran Turismo 5 - No.
Killzone 2 (soon to be 3) - Meh...

360:
Halo 3 and Reach - Woot!
Gears of War 1 and 2 - I would try it.
Mass Effect 1 and 2 - Meh.
Forza 3 - No.
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 - They're 'okay...'
Fable 2 and 3 - Meh.

Not really a good list from either, I suppose.

Dang, you have a very limited taste :P. I would love to play most of the games on each list lol.
