Sad, but that is war. Does anyone really know why we do it? The answer is: Because that is what we're good at...

Re: New Outlook On The War In Iraq

But are those civilian deaths from us or the enemy? I mean is it our fault those civilians or dieing or is it AQ/Taliban or whoever doing the killing?

It's not the religion that causes wars, it's the men who use religion as a means to control people that do.

Re: New Outlook On The War In Iraq

Why would they kill people of their own country? It's 90% or more our faults. Yes, there have been some suicide bombings, but we are the main factor. We hit targets because we think the area may have so-and-so in it and they aren't there. We just blow up stuff and kill innocent people, like diehard said, because we're good at it.

Re: New Outlook On The War In Iraq

A war has civilian casualties. I erks me when people dont understand that. Us killing those "innocent" people to target one higher power is worth it. Honestly, whos to say in the group of 20 all 20 are civilians? Whos also not to say they the next month all 20 wont enlist into the Taliban or another enemy group?

A penny saved is a penny earned
A killed enemy is possibly a saved life for your "side"

All those mortar strikes, carpet bombs, predator missals, napalm strikes, precision airstrikes, AC-130s...RC-XD cars (lol yes, I just quoted Call of Duty) saved countless of our personnel. Those civilian deaths are in essence priceless.

EDIT- PS. If they wouldnt go guerrilla warfare on us and stopped hiding (camping rofl) then wouldnt that solve their civilain deaths problem anyway? Exactly, its as much of a fault of theirs as it is as ours, if it is any of our fault in the first place, which im believing its not.

Re: New Outlook On The War In Iraq

The only reason they went "Guerrilla warfare" on us is because we invaded them.

If a foreign nation came here with guns a blazing I would do the same, I hope you would too.

If a country invaded the United States I would think the military would first try to stop their wouldnt you? Then if they lost then, yes, I would try to fend off the intruders.

OH I forgot to mention, the foreign country that invaded us also disbanded our military, because that is what we did to them.

Once again, they are enemies in an enemy nation we are at war against. "Innocent people" to you is the guy without the gun at the specific moment in your mind.

Then they won? Were just rebels then in their land. But beside that, which country could totally disable our military right now? Thank the Lord for our Army

I'd like to see some proof of that. Granted they do hide behind their citizens in order to stop us from attacking, which obviously doesn't work. But why would they not attack Iraqi civilians? Well particularly the ones that agree with what we are doing, and support a new government system and all that jazz. Or what about the "infidels" in their own country? Or even to strike fear in the people, after all that is a method of controlling the people.

Re: New Outlook On The War In Iraq

to quote the opening of Fallout New Vegas "War............War Never Changes" civilian casualties are a part of war and frankly its sad i've got friends that have come back from Iraq and Afghanistan and they've told me that when your adreniline (sp) gets pumping even the smallest thing can look like a gun or IED and frankly when it comes to this war (i dont think we shouldve been in Iraq in the first place) you can never tell who is an insurgent and who isnt

No. That is a lie.
Innocent people are like you and I, except in a different location.
You're fine with innocent people dying as long as they aren't related to you.
What if your family was the family that died or even you????!!
You would never, and should never, accept innocent people being murdered!
If you're fine with them being murdered, then you're suggesting that you wouldn't mind taking their place.

Innocent people should never be murdered. Whenever we invaded an innocent country, we caused these people to be put into this situation. 100% is more than 90%.
Go to CNN. I bet 24/7, no matter when you go, one of the top articles are talking about innocent people dying in Iraq. Oh, sorry. Not all the time. Not when Tiger Woods or someone is cheating on his wife.
I do not support murder.
