I almost fixed a 60gb PS3 YLOD

So, I personally own a 60gb PS3. Love the damn thing. In any sense, my boss' son broke his 60gb PS3 somehow, and it got the dreaded YLOD. I tried swapping parts and all that, troubleshooting different guides, and even broke out the multi-meter. Then I tried something a little more ballsy.
I used a heat gun. One that can crank up to 590 degrees Celsius. I used it at about 300C and "cooked" the processor and RSX, as well as the circuits surrounding them. Lo-and-behold, when I reassembled the unit, it actually powered on, did NOT give the YLOD, and worked for about one minute before giving me the old 3-beep chirp, YLOD, and powering off.
I'll be busting out the heat gun again tomorrow and seeing if I can revive her
