Hey all, I’m working on designing 3D characters for my indie game, and I’m trying to figure out the most efficient workflow that balances style, animation, and optimization. I want the characters to stand out visually without creating unnecessary performance issues. For those who’ve worked on 3D characters before, what strategies or tools have helped you the most?

From my experience, starting with solid concept art and keeping your models clean and rig-friendly is key. Also, studying how professional studios handle their workflows can save a lot of trial and error. I recommend checking out Studio VSQUAD, they showcase excellent examples of 3D character pipelines, including modeling, texturing, and animation techniques. Seeing their process helped me understand how to maintain both style and efficiency in my own projects.
