2004-2006 Rip My harddrive
Woke up in the morning, what did I see?
Harddrive failure imminent, contact Compaq technical support.
I had to buy a brand new hard drive for it, since my desktop was out of warranty, by about 2 months. Damn, I should have dished out 20 bucks for the extended warranty...
Im having a helluva bad week...

If there is some info on your bad HD. There is still a chance that you can recover some files from it. Go to:
http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm and get File Scavenger Version 3. I have used it countless times and 9 out 10 I get to recover all my data from bad to corrupted HDs that Windows doesn't even detect.

Once you have another working HD. You then install the bad HD as a second drive. That is how you recover it.
