I got my copy of Vista last week. Tried to install it a couple of days ago and guess what...I need to upgrade my system. Typical of MicroSUCKS to put out software that like only 15% of the computer owning population can use. I am glad I got mine for free, otherwise I would really be p1553d. Pardon my french. So I was curious if any of you got vista and if you did were you able to install it?

I think the minimum specs for vista are 512mb ram and decent graphics?

I'd say that only about 40% of all people are able to use it without upgrading their computer system but I know for a fact that I can't run it... and don't plan to even if I could.

Vista Business Requirements:

1GHz processor
1GB RAM
Windows Aero Capable graphics card
128MB graphics memory
40GB HDD with 15GB free for temporary files
DVD Drive
Internet Access
Audio output capability

Those are the MINIMUM requirements right off of the package....
Again I say MicroSUCKS

that's vista business though. The "normal" package for the average consumer (w/e it is called) has 512mb ram as the minimum I think.

If I bought a new computer I might think about it... but until there is a need for a new computer or vista... then I don't care for vista at all.

the only thing I can see is that it will be on direct X 10... which many direct x 9 graphics cards are nearly cross compatible... so that isn't much.

people will say that it runs smoother... well... DUH it BETTER b/c your computer specifications have to be 75% better than before just to use it lol

i think its kind of a waste of money right now, the only one thats worth getting is the premium or higher and thats like 250+ might as well buy a 360 with that money with halo 3 :D

word... then again, given time, ANY high-end PC will be better than ANY console b/c of homebrew capabilities.

i did a survey to get mine free. It's WIndows Vista Business but it's free. They said I should get it 6-8 weeks after it was released but I got it 2 days before launch. They did give me an offer for an upgrade to Vista Ultimate for only $139...lol. I can't even install this one, they sure aren't getting any of my money.
