I bought a $13 optical mouse about two years ago and I love it to death. I purposely got the one that looked like the biggest piece of crap so that it would weigh less. Most times I don't even notice a cord at all. I'd suggest to just replace the mouse with a cheap one. Hell, if it breaks, you can get another cheap one.

I'd rather buy a new mouse than new batteries all the time.

Energizers are the only ones that will last longer.

hmmm maybe its not the batteries.... i think my mouse is always on. Theres no power button on it so the only option that could save battery life is taking them out?

Firefoxx to actually stick on your topic why do you need a long lasting one anyways?
Anyone would work fine. I dont know many that work as long as about up to 12 hours past,
but most of my panasonic ones work good.
