My mom and stepdad dont know anything about a com. All dey do is go on web dats all. they think dat uploading and downloading cause a com to crash. dats why i got grounded last time! I explain and tell me to stop lyin!

Its very frustrating.

Maybe they're just worried about virus's and other malicious software.

my parents dont know spit about computers. but i come from a long line of computer interested family members. my grampa homebrewed, my uncles homebrewed and now so do i. but yea... my mom doesnt even know how to get ON much less use the net

heres a funny one just remember the fact that my stepmom has a masters in computer science

my stepbro's laptop got all screwed up i can't even tell you what happened because i don't even know what happened I fixed it doing my usual methods just wingin it

anyways i fixed mostly everything trojans, the trojan downloader, and all the nifty popups i kept getting *i don't know what those were they wern't porn though*

turned out everything happened because of this anitspyware crap

i got yelled at because the reason why it happened was because of all the downloading me and him do??? and i kept telling her what the problem was i mean when the damn anitspyware program comes up in the virus scan you sort of get the source of the problem

anyways we kept arguing and i was like whatever if we keep on I'm going to punch her in the face *my patience with her is very limited*

we get home and i'm on my dad's laptop which might i add i downloaded a billion things on this with absolutely no problem at all she tells me not to download anything because it'll end up like my pc.....and then she said something about getting error's when i click on something i asked her what she was talking about and she said i knew and i was like well i've never had that problem and she got all mad at me saying i knew what she was talking about and i just sort of kept quite because i didn't want to punch her face in *i'm not really violent just she strikes this nerve like some of the songs on the radio*

well we bought a new wireless router because our old one fried along with my pc so we bought a new one and i hooked it up and the laptop found it no problem so i figured i'm done well my stepbro gets on and asked why isn't this working and i took a look at it and i saw that the laptop was still thinkin it was on the old router well my stepmom walks out and i figured she's played with these before that she'd have a better idea than i do about how to fix it oh no how i was wrong the first thing she did was blame me for downloading something

i may not be the smartest but why am i surrounded by idiots???

she was on it till 1 in the morning and i asked her what was wrong??? she said that it was still thinking it's hooked up to the old wireless router....it took her till 1 in the morning what it took me all of 5 minutes to know

just remember that she has a masters in computer science and she writes computer programs for a living

My mom don't even know how to turn a computer on. My dad is a little more advanced then just using firefox(I'm glad he finally realized firefox is better then IE), but now he is just stuck on the idea Norton AV is the best thing since sliced bread. I try to tell him but all he does is say "Norton stops all the viruses that try to attack my computer" so I look at the log and he has had like 1 trojan the whole month that Norton detected lol. I really had no clue what you were saying in your post so I could be completely off topic though.

You guys realise that english may not be his first language right? Don't knock someone for how they speak as it is a forum, not english class. I know a few of you here are just as guilty for writing confusing sentences.

My point is, lets try and make these forums positive for all users as negativity only hurts the growth of our community.
