Forums loading slowly

Is it just me or do the forums seem to take a long time to load lately. I have DSL at work and Cable at home and on both it seems to take 20 seconds or more to load the forums and subsequent categories. Maybe it's time to purge the really old discussions. Just an observation.

It tends to do that some times... just wait it out, It should stop within five minuets

For some reason, usually at night, we sometimes witness a few slowdowns. Now, if the forum was having slowdowns in midday, I would figure that purging some of the really old topics would be ok. As it is, however, I think that the reason we have slowdowns is just because of periodical server updates. There's no reason to assume that we need to make the database smaller for PSPBrew because it isn't even 60mb large, so I'm sure it's not harming anything.
