Steam's a digital download service created and maintained by Valve, the creators and developers of such perfection as the Half Life series, Team Fortress 1 and2, Portal, and the Left 4 Dead series. The amount of games available on the service is staggering, and user features such as profiles, friends lists, wishlists, and the ability to send gifts makes it the one-stop hub for everything PC gaming.
