The first one looks like there was 3 steps involved :p Or at least to me it does, stick a render on the background with 1 brush blurred around, make a new layer and stick some green over the image and set the opacity like 50% or something. But if your the kind of person that only likes the kind of people that just tell them there work looks good then, it looks good.
