I suppose that this is easier than how I do it. I use pspfiler to do this, but I feel safer doing it my way b/c I know exactly what is going on.
I wonder though, if this thread is titled correctly. This seems to change the icons. You state at the end that once you do this (for some reason) it unlocks the label editor in x-flash for use... but I think that this thread would be better off titled "Custom XMB Icons" and then you could just make that a note on the tutorial that it unlocks it in x-flash as well.
You could also find links to a good place to get custom icons.

Couldn't you do this with any program that writes a new topmenu plugin?
Anyways, I see what you mean. I will sticky this, at least for a few months. It would be nice if you would try to see if other programs, like pspfiler (I think fileassistant is one also) can be used to do this same thing and if they can, add them to the tutorial later on
good work

Yes, it can, but it is locked isn't it?
*edit* I am wondering if this should be a sticky... could you convince me?

Ok asddasit, I think I have a good idea for all of your tutorial buisness. Instead of all the seperate tutorials, if you would take all of the ones you've written, and put them together in one document, but still seperate tutorials, I'd be willing to sticky it for you, and I think that it would be a great idea to organize all of them and you could just add to that whenever you feel like it. But if you decide to do this I suggest makng a table of contents or something at the top of the post. It would be beneficial for anyone to have access to all of your great tutorials without having to glance at another topic.

Let's not hop on this bandwagon yet. Here is my idea first.
I think that we should wait until we gather more tutorials. We could then create an announcement thread that includes all of the good tutorials and make a "guide to everything" with links pointing where to go (color-coded for your type of issue). I think if we did this, we could un-sticky the tutorials and that would allow for more questions to surface to the top of the page.
Good idea, but I think we should hold off and head my route. Later on, we could take a poll in site suggestions.

I think my idea is a good one. I like how psp-hacks' forums does it. They have a tutorials section that nobody can create a new thread in except for mods. If someone makes a good tutorial, it can then just be moved to the tutorials section by the mod. That way everything stays nice and clean. Now, people WOULD be allowed to post in those tutorials still, just it wouldn't be overcrowded with help/tutorials, it would be just 100% tutorials.
I think we may do that in the future.

monkeymaximus has told me that he is making a better tutorials section. I don't know what he meant by that, but that is what he said.
