That is cool. Well now you know my reasons for not going to 3.80 with a fatty.

just wondering my friends said there is such a thing.
Just tell me what mods are possible on psp because there might be one i find that i like and i would like to mod my psp

i doubt it, you will need some REAL skillz in hardware and software modding

Yes, you see I am lazy and I do not want to do any soldering.
Not only that but my mom would flip if she knew I hardmodded my PSP.
Actually, I didn't like the nub as after a while the size just became too much and the paper clips that I used kept breaking.
So, don't waste your time.

Still want to do it?
you need an A$$ load of extra wire(The kind that you have to strip with a sheet of sandpaper)
A pair of pliers(Flat or bottle-nosed will do)
#0 screwdriver
and a PSP.

Unscrew the PSP and strip the wire on both ends.
Unscrew the analog stick from the PSP and take the clip off.
On the PS1/PS2/XBOX controller take the analog stick and use the pliers and use them to destroy the circut board under the big nub(don't break the six pins!!!!!!)
once the analog stick is to the point where you can get the wire on easily
feed one end of the stripped wires through the four holes on the psp analog circut board and connect the other end to the big nub
Close the PSP and Find something to secure the nub with(Paper Clips!!!!) and you're good to go!

ah see thats not dual nub. i mean making two analog sticks. like for medal of honor or call of duty games. heh i spent hours preparing the analog stick. i just need the balls to solder wires to the mother board

have you tried using a lighter to strip your wires? its a bit quicker than sand paper. man this site needs a hard mod section.

though thats pretty cool. if you had a hot glue gun you could hot glue the clips in place

Roxfox64, seriously, use the edit button. Don't double post.

Anyways, I looked into that tutorial and it looks quite easy. I just don't have the tools to do it.

So it is possible to have 2 analog instead of the X/O/[]/ and /\ buttons? I figured I heard about that before. I thought about doing that myself. I really wish the psp came with 2 analog sticks in the first place. It's do-able.

Again NOT POSSIBLE!!!
You would have to rebuild the PSP's button circut board entirely from scratch, not to mention make the FW recognize the input from the analog stick seeing as how the buttons don't have many varibles(Analog stock:
↑= 128, 0
← = 0, -128 → = 0, 128
↓ = -128, 0
Buttons: 0 = unpushed 1 - 3 = Pushed+Amount of force used
)
You would have to change the analog sticks Circut board to count only to 3 instead of 128
and also the buttons are seprate items which give seprate values
(The PSP recognizes the input as "Lua":
if controls.read Cross()
then etc.
if controls.read analog(128, 0)
etc.)

Understand?

Correct me if I am wrong, but all i read was your post rox saying it is impossible to trade out the buttons for a analog stick, and I dunno know if it is possible to take out the button and the psp boot up fine, but I do know it's possible to add two analog sticks. I don't know how exactly it works, but they do make that little double analog stick razor mod thingy, just a second analog on a little pcb board and you solder the sucker in their and you have a second analog stick that has replaced the buttons. You can still use the buttons, but for fps the second stick is wonderful. Just my 2 cents, sorry if it has already been mentioned.

There are several videos and pictures AND tutorials out there of how to have to analog sticks. I saw a bunch of videos on youtube and other random sties. There are several versions of the placing of the analog sticks as well. But I have seen one that goes in place of the buttons. I don't really know how you can just add an analog out of no where, because the firmware and the game would have to be programed to use it. It may be a hard taks but it HAS been done.

Understand?
