Quick Question Regarding Downgrading Risk

I just have a quick question about downgrading from 2.0 to 1.5.

If I download the downgrader files and go through the process of downgrading 100% correctly (following intructions to the letter) is there STILL a chance that i can brick my PSP? Or do people brick their PSP's this way because they're just careless?

I want to do this and I want to do it right, I was just wondering what the risks were.

Thanks

:)

It is safe. I have read that lots of pro users tend to upgrade and downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 repeatively to play thier games and ISOs.

I did it only once (not knowing too much on how to do it), just followed the instructions to a "T", and disabled Norton so it wouldn't delete the supposely virus it find during the downgrade. The results were phenominal!

i recommend that you get your downgrader from the hphwebsite that way, your garunteed to get a working downgrader and not some trojan. Be sure to disable norton anti-virus if you have it though.

the downgrader that port has is the older version. It is quite long to do and has more steps. The one from the mph website is the newer one and has less steps and files.

Thanks alot guys i feel alot more confident about downgrading now.

:D

Before I thought about sticking with 2.0 and just using the Eboot loader for homebrew but then i realized that im missing out on too much not having 1.5. Cant wait to try it out

Mainly because I have a 2gb Memory card which will allow me to play and store a decent amount of ISO's at one time. I feel i can get more out of the storage capacity of my memory card
if i have a much more flexable and usuable firmware such as 1.5. There is also some homebrew (probably actually quite alot) that doesnt currently work even with the eboot. I have been using the eboot and its far better than without but im still not really satisfied. :?

If it wasnt for those reasons (particularly with the ISO's) then i would definately follow your opinion and stick with the 2.0 eboot(s). :)
