Normally those type of files and folders were created when you had a Windows Update of somekind. It is best to leave them around. Do a anti-virus scan to that directory.. if nothing comes up.. leave them be.

I did a search for spunist and discoverd that it means:

SP (Service Pack) + unist (Uninstall)

Seems they were created when you did an update install of SP 1 to SP 2 or just one of the upgrades you do with Windows Updates. They seem to be harmless and it is best to leave them be.

actually jay jay's right... its the service packs uninstall data. Service pack SP1 gives you the option to include uninstaller data when loading it so you can (obviously) uninstall it at a later stage. But SP2 doesnt have this option so everyone who loads SP2 ends up with those. Its a lot of space gone to waste but meh! :-|
