How to play 2.5 or 2.6 games on 1.5/2.0, Help?

Hi, I'm currently running on v1.5 firmware, and am quite new to the whole homebrew scene, save for simple older-generation console games. Can someone help me through or link me to a guide of some sort to be able to run rented games without upgrading?

Example: I am running 1.5 and wish to play a rented UMD, Megaman Maverick Hunter X, which requires v2.5 firmware without upgrading.

Ok.. I would use pspsetx and then firmware tweak it to 2.5, and then run it.. I'll get you a link.

Pspsetx only work on firmware 2.00 download the stuff from here and when u do i will help u out with installing it.

U have to use the gameloader for 1.5

From my very..vague understanding, wouldn't that gameloader require having the GTA UMD?

Just from what it looks like to me.

Well, if you aren't concerned about downgrading, I would upgrade to 2.0 and 2.0 only and use pspsetx v2...

I've upgraded to 2.0 to play a few games I own and the like, and have downgraded a couple times, so I'm fine with that. I think that one would be better in my case, though thanks for the other suggestion.

Either of you happen to know of a 2.0 upgrade file? Al games that require 2.0 that I have are loaned out right now. =\

Yah but no gta is just the game everyone wanted to play do they say gta but it will work for megaman.

I figured I'd give the other one a quick try, and, Megaman is a 2.5 game, dunno if that would change anything, just saying since it said 2.0 game loader. Anyways, it freezes for me at the Loading Game screen. lol

Lemme go ahead and download the 2.0 update just in case

Ahh, it works now, awesome.

You both rock, guys. Now have alternatives depending on what version I'm on at the time.

Edit: Actually, it loaded, said that this game contains an autosave feature in an error-esque message format, then asked me to create a system file, then a save file for the game. Keeps freezing on the game's "Accessing..." loading screen.

Gonna try the 2.0 one, just to see how easy it is.
