What exactly is a moderator and what do they do?

A moderator is someone who controls either a part of a forum or the entire forum who has the power to delete topics, edit posts of other people, look at people IP addresses, move, pin, unpin, and have basically complete control over the forum they are put on to moderator.
The opposite is an admin who has complete control over the forum and is able to do what ever he wants if or and assigned by the owner.

Yah we basically make sure that ppl stay on topic dont swaer or anything like that and really "moderate" the forums lol hope that helps.
