I have that problem, 2 weeks ago. All I was doing was surfing the net, when I have to make an emergency PSP turn-off(hold power button 5 secs). Then after about 8 hours, I tried to turn on my PSP, but it can't.It charges, but can't turn on.I charged it fully last night, but I still have the same thing. Can somebory help me out?

Specs of my PSP (If needed)
Black PSP-1001,
Non TA-082
Version 2.80
Stock Battery(came with PSP)
Homebrew:Space Invaders,Fonthack,FileAssistant,and Tetris.

same thing happend to me when i tried to update with out a power cord, the psp could charge but not turn on if you have had the psp under a year and a half take it back to the store you got it from and return it and they give you a new one i did'nt even need a receipt.. so try that first

first off your a n00b for updating a non-TA-082 second the only thing you can do is send it to sony and have them update it further and replace it.

Not exactly. One TA-082 and one not.
The one that is not a TA-082 was the one bought recently.

Yunoko, how is it possible my PSP got bricked if I wasn't trying to update.I was trying to log onto the new free AOL.

i dont think its bricked. i dont think turning it off would cause a brick. why did you have to do an "emergency" shut down? its more than likly fried or something, try a new battery. thats all i can think of.

Maybe I'll try a new battery, even though it still doesn't work with the ac.
