OK, we were willing to believe that PS3 pre-orders were regularly going for over $2,000 on eBay. We even entertained the possibility that selling prices of over $30,000 might actually be legit. But someone willing to pay just short of $100 million for a PS3? That's nearly half the gross domestic product of Tonga!
The sad part is that it's hard to tell from the bid history exactly when the auction went from serious pre-order offer to joke-bidding extravaganza. Our best guess is that by the time eBay user mrsophistication placed the first six-figure bid, all logic and good sense had gone out of the proceedings. We can't help but feel bad for jason_138, who bid Sony's asking price of $600 only to be outbid by tens of millions of dollars. Better luck next time Jason.
Now that the PS3 has gone from pre-order possibility to actual retail product, will we see average auction prices decrease, or will short supplies lead to continued bidding frenzies throughout the holiday season?

or even a few years lol, but i will not get one for about another month cuz it will probly have like a few bugs in it then when thos bugs are fix i will probly buy one
but i think the dude who bought the ps3 really did'nt cuz i dont think anybody would pay 100 mill for a game system

I would rather spend that on a house instead.
and btw I doubt that the PS3 will have any bugs, think about it. 600$??? They wouldve made
it like 200 if it did.

Those are all fake.
Right now people are making random accounts on eBay and doing that on purpose. Look at the highest bidders and they are all now banned. So that is all just a joke on the seller.

Actually D3VIL's topic is true.
If enough people vote to have a core 360 system at $100 they will put it on sale that cheap.. I might purchase one just as a backup.

that is so cool that the ps3 has firmwares, sony could always add better things to the ps3 on the downside they could update security due to homebrew

ya it is great (iv been reading more) cuz if you or a lot of ppl have aprob;em sony can easily make a fireware andppl can download it and then there playstation 3 would be fix
