alright, well i think it\'s obvious that I\'ve
been away from the PSP scene for a while :P

my problem, is that i have a backup of Metal Gear Portable Ops;
but i can\'t run it on my 1.5 PSP.

i noticed that PSP ruler was having the same problem
but i didn\'t find a solution.

i tried using the devhook 3.01 emulation homebrew APP, but
it doesn\'t work. like PSPRuler said, it loads up then it stays at
a black screen....then it turns off.

what should i set the settings to? and how cna i run the back up from my memstik.

any ideas?

thanks, guys. peace it.

You could either:
Upgrade to 2.71 SE-C, or upgrade to 3.02 OE-A. Its a new custom firmware for 3.02 which the humble Dark Alex stumbled on making.
Check the features out on www.pspbrew.com (look for the article, it should be one of the first few)

okay well anyways.

You should update your 1.5 to 3.02 OE-A like Mailas said.

it has all the homebrew possibilities of 1.5 and all the advantages of 3.02 it should let you load the ISO with no questions asked.

It allows you to run ISOs directly off the XMB they will be located in the same location as your homebrew will be, just don't move your ISO folder there, keep it on the root.

Sup PSPMan!!

dont listen to these any these guys about upgrading your psp, I obviously figured out
the probelm but they didnt.

once you install devhook 0.51 on your psp, you have to go 3.01 DH FW Installer in your menu,
then press X and it will start executing, now dont worry see all the stuff its writing to, you may think
its an error, but its not so dont panic.

just a note, I discovered it crashing alot when I start Portable Ops, hopefully they will fix that bug.

Why does it matter?
Also, why wouldnt you upgrade? Its way better than devhook thats for sure (except for the more plugins)

don't listen to pspruler he is obviously blind and oblivious to change. Update, you get all the good features of 3.02, with all the homebrew capabilities of firmwares 1.0,1.5, and 3.02(which is really just a mix of 1.0 and 1.5 lol)

plus ISO loading off the XMB is great, lol and if you are a cheapskate(like me :D) then it will save you a whopping 30mb (or however much you use for devhook)

ummm...I had trouble trying to start devhook and I didnt remember you recalling that info to me
about updating..so yeah I guess I was blind cause I obviously figured it out on my own.

ok, we are past the ISO loading and we are talking about updating since we really don't care about your ISO loading problems, because you obviously have it working...

lol ok you see...your calling me blind, but I never said I had a probelm loading an ISO, it was
the program I had trouble starting with...

.... I am referring to the fact that you were telling PSP_Man not to update to 3.02 OE-A when I called you blind and oblivious.

thats like telling someone not to receive medical treatment for a bullet wound.

he said he was having the same probelm as I did, I gave him the solution of what was needed to
be done. I got it to work and I never had to upgrade.

but why not upgrade, it's alot better than 1.5

Just except from the plugins, but theres not many. The most greatest thing you could endure on Special Editions (custom firmwares) are mostly the ISO off the XMB which is practically ownage over devhook.
