I downloaded season 2 tv series of nip tuck for a friend and want to know how i can put them on a dvd to play on a dvd player. They're all in .avi format (16 of them) and come up to about 5.13gb in total so i need to compile them all together (im assuming) and then use dvd shrink on it in order to make them fit on a standard dvd-r.

So my questions are...
1. do i need to convert them to a diff format or is .avi fine?
2. how do i compile all 16 .avi files together?
3. will using dvd shrink distort or mess up audio/video and overall quality of the files?
4. once i have converted or compiled the files together, how do i burn it?

Just never tried downloading the movies, usually just copy a disc. I'm currently using poweriso to compile all 16 .avi files into a .iso (don't know if thats the right way to do it but thats why i asked here :D )
And i have nero 7 ultra edition for burning if anyones familiar with its features (im sure all of you are)

Thanks for the reply :D

Yeah I was kind of looking for a way to convert them to dvd format (which i found but came out grainy) Had a hunch (but was unsure) that some players played .avi didnt want to take a chance though since this chick has an outdated dvd player. But i'll take note of this info for next time i try something like this. Thanks man.

yea, if you downloaded an AVI it will come out grainy or pixeled out once converted to dvd format..
if you downloaded the MPEG format i think it will come out ok... AVI is like compressed or something :D or my friend said u cud use the avi that has the bigger file size..:)

Or try this, Just use NERO Ultra 6. It can convert the files automatically after you edit the movies. and stuff. and just click on burn in the end. It will tanscode them in to DVD files to run on your DVD player. Was an addict of doing those thing b4. And kinda took a break, cuz since one day I found out that you can do wonderous things with your PSP. I'm hooked. If you need FREE conversion softwares go to: www.videohelp.com Sheesh, they have everything you need and all you questions will be answered. Example: if you want to convert .avi to .mpg format, use TMGEnc. they have everything bro! Check it out! And best of luck man!
