so can i run all my Menu costomizations with 3.40 oe-a that i could in 3.03 oe-c?

not quite. I mean, it runs them all but in order to flash icons (topmenu_plugin.rco) you need to make sure they are decrypted from firmware 2.50 I believe.

lately all the new custom firmwares are crap. its gonna be hard to find a find a firmware better than 3.03 oe-c because its so perfect. the only reason i like new custom firmwares is because wen i downgrade a freind and he needs to update or something, i just give him a modern custom firmware.

but all aside. im not "wowed" about this new firmware either

I like changing icons frequently - and with 3.30 and 3.40 oe firmwares, you need to use a topmenu_plugin.rco that is decrypted from version 2.50 - and most of the sweet icons (and tools to make them) make using 3.03 oe-c perfect b/c I'd rather not worry (or trust someone's word on the internet) over flashing icons that may brick me. I have all the ps1 games I need right now. I'm happeh.

Also, the changelog for the newer firmwares should be included if you download them.

apoligies, apoligies all around..im stickin wit 3.03 oe-c just cause the only PSX games i play are Crash and FF7.

I dunno about the topmenu plugin.rco since i havent used it to know. But i know that when i make my opening_plugin.rco zingaburga's rco editor automatically patches it to 2.50. If thats the case then wouldnt the topmenu be the same or no?
