I got the same error the other day. I had to unplug the computer from the wall for a few minutes then after I plugged it back in it loaded correct. I don't know what the problem was but it is ok now.

So this happened to you?
You just turned it off and it fixed?

Yeah, I actually had to disconnect the power from it but after 5-10 minutes all was good again.

It's most likely not shot. The one way to know is to manually enter the boot order.

In this situation how would I do that?
Should I put in my XP Cd?

Well if the hard drive failed then it is unlikely that installing another OS will even be possible because the most common form of a hard drive failure is a head crash which ruins the disc. But recently my girlfriends hard drive went kaput and I was able to put winXP back on there for her. In many machines, for some reason, the computer tries to read from the usb drive (at least 1-2 times during its lifetime). It's a pretty normal goof and a really easy fix.

@firefoxx the key I use is CTRL ALT DLT but for some reason it restarts.
I dont know why but when I put the CD in it didnt boot at all.
So exactly how do I bypass this error if in such situations?

Mailas, don't hit ctrl+alt+delete. Instead, right when you turn on the computer, there will load a "bios screen" and say "HP" or "DELL" or w/e. When that pops up, hit the F9 key. Some computers will use a different key but F9 is pretty generic. Then say to boot from the hard drive.

if your using a verizon wireless adapter on a dell laptop,
that eventually causes the hardrive to fail
