Daedalus R11 coming very soon!

Daedalus R11 is almost here.

Yes that is a screenshot of smash bros on the psp! PSP Developer StrmnNrmn has amazed me once again with his N64 emulator, Daedalus R11. He says that it should be ready by sunday or monday. He has been working hard and is very close to the completion of R11. Heres the rough idea of what he has been doing:

* I was using to keep track of cached textures and dynarec fragments with sorted vectors, which should help reduce fragmentation and improve cache usage.

* I've also been through and updated the rom.ini file I talked about a couple of weeks ago to make sure that it contains accurate information for the save type. I noticed that many of the entries for European roms were undefined, which can cause various compatibility problems.

* Finally I realised that there was a dynarec issue which was preventing Super Smash Bros from going in-game. Although that's not fixed (that's something for R12) I have disabled dynarec for SSB by default. With my various texture cache fixes SSB is now running in-game, albeit with messed up graphics and at just 15 fps.

As you can see he has put alot of effort into his work, and best of all, has gotten super smash brothers 64 up and running. It is not perfect however (dealing with graphical issues and lag)but heres what he has to say about this topic:

"Given how many people have been asking for SSB compatibility to be improved, I'm pretty sure this is going to be my main focus for R12. If I can fix the dynarec issue it looks like this is going to run at a solid 25-30fps or more."

It's pretty amazing how well he's been able to get this thing working so far, but even more amazing is that he's still so dedicated to working on it. Kudos to StrmnNrmn.

You need to be granted the ability to post news from an administrator of this site. Currently I am a global mod as well as a news administrator, but not a full admin. In any case though, I am able to post news currently, firefoxx, so I suggest you contact .Vault to see what is wrong.

well i can see the admin box on the from page but the "post news" link isnt there. I think it stopped working once i became a mod

I still haven't got my access to post news either DPM, didn't Vault get that pm from you yet?
