Yeah, Not a shock I'm back again lol
I've been so caught up with other stuff
for a while I haven't had time to keep
up my PSP knowledge :(

I'm going to get back into the PSP scene
again, since i'm done with exams and stuff.

So, if someone could fill me in real quick on
what's new with PSP since 3.03 oe firware
that'd be GREAT! lol

Thanks, guys :D

nothing new really, except a new custom firmware that adds more compatability with PSX games.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

Thanks, Shay :)
I'm glad to be back.

I'm just happy that I didn't miss
much lol.

But i have a question:
Can I play ISOs on OE firmware?
If so, what should I use?

Yea you can play them on OE firmware. All you have to do is put them in the "ISO" folder in the root of the memory stick and then they show up in the psp menu in the "game" section like all other homebrew ;)

But yea, I know you are an older member but I don't remember when you left (most likely it was before I got here) but I'm sure there is more stuff than what everyone thinks lol.

And btw, I'm DarkPacMan77 - nice to meet you.

I had 3.30 OE, but my PSP is broken for now.

Damn, dude that sucks.
What happened?

And should i see if i can get 3.40 OE?
Or do you think i should stick with 3.30

3.03 oe-c is arguably the best custom firmware at this point. I suggest 3.03 oe-c but if you ever have a ps1 game that won't work properly or something, then upgrading to 3.40 oe-a might be the best choice. The only big difference is that the ps1 emulator is slightly better in 3.40 oe-a (and flash0 icon mods are slightly harder to use as well).

Like I say though, use 3.03 oe-c until you run into a problem - you most likely won't though.

Thanks for your input, man.

Right now 3.40 is installing.
I'll see how that's going to go.

But right now it's taking FOREVER!
It's been on "extracting and packing 3.40 firmware..."
for like 10 minutes.

Yea that can happen if you are using a Sony memory card. They read/write slower than Sandisk. Anyways though, since you are using 3.40, just make sure to read up on flash0 customization if you plan on doing anything like that - particularly with the topmenu_plugin.rco file (which changes icons) because some will brick the psp. It is entirely recoverable, but it is a big nuisance if you aren't using a compatible topmenu_plugin.rco file.

I see.
Well i don't plan on customeizing anything.
To be honest, i like the defaults.

But thanks for the heads up :D
