You think a company of thousands of people is going to back down to a few coders? I think not.

Seems as though a user by the name of "PSP Fanboy" has gotten his hands on a PSP2, as it's being called. Surpisingly, the system was shipped with firmware v3.60. So instead of going through alot of words, I'm going to go ahead and make a list of some features. Although this is version 3.60, there is yet no real confirmation that the first gen of PSP's will have the compatibility.
* USB Charge function.
* UMD Cache feature to speed up UMD load times
* Video-out function
* Screensaver ability
* More then likely, increased security
And alot more undiscovered/unannounced features. In relation to the video functionality, games are bordered, rendered at 480x272 pixels, and or progressive scan exclusively. The most important, probably, is the security. Not to much has been announced about it, but I'm sure we will find out in due time. For more pictures, please visit the link mentioned below.
Thats the news post I made, and if you don't mind kellytna, I put the pictures mention in the article in your post since it's the first post made. Since I can't merge topics I didn't want to make a new thread, and I wanted the pictures to be in the first post of the thread for the sake of simplicity. If you want me to take them out, I'll understand.

I'm guessing that the usb charge is only on the slim psp because there are different types of usb ports which allow the use of different functions. (could be wrong in this case tho) But yeah the video output will only be on the slim psp.
And also to clarify things...becus25's recent IE releases are only add-on's to the current OE firmware. Although I'm sure he's capable of filling in DAX's shoes since he has made custom firmware in the past.

Wow, looks like I might have to pick up a new PSP when I move to Japan... then wait patiently for it to be hacked.
