Sounds like Kelly meant 4gb or storage, not memory.

Oh, and Vista sucks. I tried it out on one of my spare drives... it took forever to change the security settings so it wouldn't keep asking me permission to do everything. That was so annoying. Also, as pretty as Vista is, eats up too much memory. Compatibility with programs isn't 100% either.

I tried Vista 1 more time after that just for s**ts and giggles... yeah, it corrupted my (at the time) brand new 500gig external. Any time I'd try to put a file on it, it crashed my comp immediately. I had already put over 200gigs on it and erased that data off my main drive. Luckily I was able to transfer it back and reformatting fixed it, but that's definately 2 thumbs down for Vista right there.

Vista works for me, you just need to meet the requirments. oh and get windows defender.
Oh, and if you use a illegal copy of vista, the OS is programmed to download viruses to teach
you a lesson ;)

I do what k3vk1t does, dual boot between XP and kubuntu. If you don't care about games, then Linux is the best OS ever. Well that is for performance. This is the way I look at it:

mac OS X- graphics
Linux- performance and some good gui features
windows- mainstream programs/viruses

I so love Linux, never crashes, takes up a lot less resources, way less viruses(Don't even use a AV) and it doesn't ask me to run a program I just clicked XD.
