I might actually use this one, it looks very interesting. If you are registered at maxconsole scroll down the forum page a bit. Someone has posted screenshots from the new CFW.

"Password" eh? I like the sound of that, wasn't there a password security option on early custom firmware versions?

I could make that custom firmware myself. It's nothing special. All they have done is taken the password plugin that was released a long time ago, and put it in the firmware. Also, the "sexy xmb" is a mix of two themes that have been released for quite some time now (applecor and .... um, can't remember the other right now). The "easy Pandora's Battery" thing has already been released, and the easy XMB mods have been made available by CXMB.

Really, all those guys are doing is ripping other developers' projects off.

"* Plugins stored in Flash1 not memorystick in a folder called AoPaddons" - there's not even that much room there for future plugin updates, but more than that, I bet that if you dissected their firmware, when it's out, you'd see that the plugins aren't even their own original work.

Whos are you not sure of blackmaze? I just want a better music section since the one on them now is kinda crappy and the ipod homebrew app always freezes. So i just want one like that (better!) on the xmb instead of having to go through homembrew.

It's a bit more complicated than that...you cant just go and change the name to a firmware with a homebrew program because it will only show the changes on your psp...to change the firmwares name you would have to decompress the files then hex edit it and compress it again. And even then, thats just making it sound easy and simplifying it because the files are encoded a certain way that if broken...well lets just leave it at you better know what your doing because if not you'll end up with a bricker firmware. If it was all stolen coding then the developers would be all over that thread and every other website they post their stuff on. Trust me i've witnessed that happen a few times and it was mostly the well known devs that aired the people out...the threads ended up being deleted in the end.

1. I know you have to decompile / recompile the code. That's not a problem.
2. Adding in plugins and what not are easy.
3. They haven't officially released any specific info about their firmware in terms of sources used or anything. As soon as someone decompiles it and checks the code of the plugins, I'm nearly sure it will be 99% someone else's work - besides maybe a bug fix.

Now, normally, the more devs on the scene, the merrier - but idk about these guys. I just hope they spot people credit where it is due.
